Since the 1970s, Captain Joel Dye has been a fixture in the St. Petersburg, Florida boating community. Growing up around boats at his family’s Salt Creek Marina ignited a passion for craftsmanship that continues today.

Captain Dye’s expertise extends far beyond the workshop. He’s a seasoned unlimited ocean captain, qualified to operate vessels up to 150 feet, demonstrating his deep understanding of boats from both a builder’s and a mariner’s perspective.

Captain Dye’s commitment to the industry is evident in his successful ventures. In 1992, he took the helm of Rabco Marine, leading it until 2021. He then launched Salt Creek Skiffs, showcasing his renowned building techniques until its sale in 2023. This experience has allowed him to directly impact countless clients through exceptional boat construction and repair services.
